S.I.C.S*

Me: Eh gift exchange $20 yah? But I bet you and Carol got gifts for everyone???
BK: Haha... Everyone except for u! Yah. Budget 20.
Me: Wah kaoz best! Should cut *Single Income Civil Servants some slack!
BK: Single Income Civil Servants are also single expense, so nett off.
Me: That's true. Alas.

Haha, it was worth a try! Anyways, shopping for prezzies is never an easy task lah. Already spent quite long last week getting gifts for the family! In the end, here's what I got... Just short of Mr See and Esther's but I know what I'm gonna get liao. A pair of super cute mugs I saw at Cathay the other day hurhur... Will try and post later. No fear of putting up the pix lah since my bunch of friends don't pop by here haha. Was quite fun chionging around ION Orchard looking for the prezzies... The place was really filled with throngs of last minute shoppers like yours truly. But was quite nice lah, could feel abit of the festive mood. =)

1. My Height Chart for BK and Carol - BK gets to put it up for Ashton and Alethea!
2. Weekly Chore Chart for Pok and Yinghui (always good to have black and white so can play the blame game!)
3. Mosquito bite soothing device (?!) for Fish and GF - Should they have trouble soothing each other's itch hahaha...
4. L'Occitane Hand Cream - Iris, Yinghui and Carol
5. Couple Mugs for Mr See and Esther (not in picture)

Some old pic I dug up. And made it look even older with some iPhone app called Camera Bag hahaha...
Look quite dumb...

Another pseudo artistic shot created using Camera Bag again. Currently my phone wallpaper.

Uber cute Christmas card from MB Jo! Hoho... Cos I got new bike...

Finally, a short clip from Jack and Rai, who were performing a gig at ION just now. Nice song.

It's good enough for two, it's what I want to see.

To my very niche group of readers

Finally decided to dust them cobwebs off my blog! Quite abit has been happening of late. Visited S in Fujisawa... Got my new posting... Cam whored... Got myself a new bike... Celebrated MB's hatchday... Cam whored... You get the drift. Hurhur. Now to put some pix to the above!

Decided to pay S a visit after over a year. Hoho.
Tis' on the way to Fujisawa from Narita on the NEX.

Grand Sumo Ryogoku Kokugikan - These guys are seriously hardcore lah.
Plenty of G cups on display. Things get really exciting when the Yokozunas take the ring!

Sushi at Ueno - This was some river eel sushi.
Tastes nicer than the usual Unagi, which can get quite fishy at times.
The fresh water version is softer, melts in your mouth and is simply grilled with salt, I think.

Kamikochi - Unique experience of mingling with locals holidaying during Silver Week!
Never thought I'd enjoy nature this much haha. Quite refreshing to skip the city for once?

Stream masquerading as a waterfall

Mt Tateyama - One of my favourite parts of the trip.
Did abit of climbing to reach our lodge (?) on one of the Tateyama peaks.
Caught a shooting star while we nua-ed in the open that night too.
But the trip left me with knee pain! Really old liao...

Yokohama at Dusk - Made a trip to the Mitsui Outlet Park in Yokohama.
Missed out on buying my Asics shoes!! They don't have it in SG lor. Crap.

Outside Tokyo Dome, where we caught the Yomiuri Giants vs Chunichi Dragons.
Turns out it was the league decider! Haha.. Quite a one sided game but still pretty exciting lah.

A BIG THANKS to my camera-shy host!!

Lazy Sunday Brunch at Spruce (that's me calling on the right!)
Not a bad place at all! Can check it out here.

Nice pic by Jo using Jo's D80 -
Really can see the difference between a DSLR and compact when viewed on big screens lah.
And of course, skill of the photographer is key!

D: It is Written

Finally managed to catch Slumdog Millionaire! Was pretty darn gooooddd. Love the part where our hero takes a plunge into the shit pit! I must admit that I didn't expect it to be so deep lah hahahaha... But then again, Jamal is pretty small so... Haha.

Its quite scary imagining anyone living in the slums. In fact, the aerial view of the thousands of inter-connected zinc roofs reminded me a little of Chatuchak in BKK.. But of course thats much much better!

Nothing stops Jamal Malik. Nothing.
Amitabh!

Also caught Vantage Point over the weekend. Its basically about the assassination of the American president viewed through the eyes of 8 different but inextricably linked characters. Its pretty much non-stop action with some rather good twists! One of the characters is this Forest Whitaker from The Last King of Scotland. He looks damn DUH in this show! Hoho.. Shan't provide any spoilers though.. Watch it!

V for Vantage

On a bright note, AC United is unbeaten after the first two games of the season! This is such a far cry from the previous three seasons, where our early form had always been rubbish! Hope we can sustain some semblance of form though. *fingers crossed*

Sure signs you're becoming an OLD COW

1) You start eating veggies like brinjal and bittergourd
2) Your muscles are in a permanent state of stiffness
3) One late night leaves you looking like shit

Just rambling.. Haha.

Burnt Saturdays

Here's what I've been up to the past (and many future) Saturdays......... NDP 09! Haha. Yup, apparently they didn't want a MAJ anymore so the arrow flew to me instead. But I think I'm quite lucky bah.. Don't have to be reserve for one year before being the actual contingent commander..

For the first time, this year's Presidential Gun Salute will take place on the water in the Marina Bay (see picture below). The overall effect is really quite good. Also, it'll be the first time since 1995 that there's gonna a full parade march-pass, meaning all 23 marching contingents will get to march past Mr N, as opposed to only the GOH and State Colours!

The Presidential Gun Salute - done on water this year.
ITS THE SHIT.

Go on, take more ugly shots of me. Hoho.
Check out our local version of the Eye of Sauron behind!

Woooooooo... NDP 09 - We Make It Happen! WOW!
Its really quite funny when the oldies start this cheer.
They are so super enthusiastic lor.
Whatever happened to me?! Hahaha...

Wrong Cliff

Has anyone ever asked why you help the people around you? Is it because you genuinely want to? Or is it because you want to feel useful? Or perhaps you can't bear seeing things done at a pace which is not to your liking? I think I'm a combination of all three.. Thanks to Fengshui Master, LS Ang, I've been thinking about it! (o_O)"

Finally survived the two week ordeal/course which has left me in quite a bad way. Two weeks of no lunch means I lost weight again. Shall endeavour to gain it all back.. Beginning with eating regular meals and stealing Jo's food! Haha.

Anyways here's more random stuff!

PAP - Peter's Action Party
Quite hilarious really. These were Peter's brothers for his wedding.
Fresh change from the usual getup.. Congrats, Mr Pok!

George of the Jungle's Land Rover Defender - Complete with sporadic 4WD, car jack and air-con.
Waiting for the owner to take us out for lunch in it.
So eager to squeeze into the rear (facing each other) benches lor haha. Like those old skool buses..

Go-karting with the CSTW gang in Johor. Check out the intense pre-race look.
I tell you, getting there was like the Amazing Race lah.
Drove to the karting circuit to find that it had moved.. Made numerous detours..
Navigated through rubber and palm plantations..
And at the track, we has our asses whupped by two kids!

NDP Rehearsal at Nee Soon Camp. Will try and get some pix soon.
Actually I'm quite glad to be part of the festivities..
Especially since I missed out on the GOH contingent during NS!

Chocolate Cherry cake at Peaberry & Pretzel in Sunset Way.

Meet your Meat! Cute poster in the shop beside Peaberry & Pretzel.
Had to ask MB to pretend to check out the menu while I took the shot. Hurhur.

Waddup?

Finally got down to trying Korean food! I've never been a big fan of kimchi so it was abit of a shock to see the plate after plate of assorted veggies (they were all sour). After Wolverine, we had decided to swing by Ju Shin Jing at East Coast for some K-grub lah..

As it turned out, I didn't really touch the greens but there was so much more to love! The meats were excellent.. Especially the beef! And the shoju was good too.. Too bad somebarreh say driving then never drink much hahaha..

video
The incredible expanding towels! We were like sooo suaku lor :)
Some stupid guesses from Dawn and the retard bros - fire starter, sweet, coin, sweet...
Trust Ms Lee to save the day: "Its a towel lor. Just add water."
(o_O)"

Leftie Dawn and Rightie Jo. Should have swapped places, them.

Mashed (sweet?) potato with choco rice. Not nice. Haha.

"Cher, he don't friend me..."

Greens! With cold seaweed soup in foreground.

More greens...

Took time off for lunch at Le Pont Du Vie! This tiny French eatery in Kandahar Street. Not bad food. But horrid service! The male wait staff was just leaning against the bar chatting with the bartender lor.
Like WASSUP. Compared to the super attentive lady at Ju Shin Jung, this guy was rubbish!

Btw, check out the lines on my face. Crap.

CP421 and other cute vehicle magnets on my office table.

Met up with The Girl from Fujisawa! Well, not really lah. More like girl working in Fujisawa.
The friend's been there for a year already. Seems like recently that she flew off with my Amber Spyglass! Hah. Was fun talking and just catching up... Check out this cute serviette from TCC.
I say, "There, Crap Coffee." Muahaha. I kid!

An Era of Lumix

Hellos and Goodbyes...
Thanks Lumi, you've served me well! Be kind to Fatty Ngoh!

Welcome to the family! Hoho..

To those who can't tell them apart, go check this out! The differences are more than simply cosmetic.. I actually prefer the looks of the LX2 lah. But its picture quality, especially that in low light was seriously beginning to piss me off haha. But Fatty, don't worry you're still getting an excellent and not to mention, extremely handsome camera at a bargain price. Cheers!
